February 8 2022Microplastics and nanoplastics are small synthetic fragments produced, used and discarded on land and dispersed through soil, rivers and the atmosphere in all ecosystems, negatively affecting all living organisms.
They have dimensions from 0,0001 to 5 millimeters.
They are divided into primary, i.e. intentionally made by man and represented by granules and pellets of various materials*, or secondary, originating from degradation due to aging and exposure of the material to atmospheric, chemical and physical agents of bags, tyres, bottles, textile materials and more.
