TREND OF OCCUPATIONAL ILLNESSES – DECREASING
12 September 2018GDPR and EB Safety and Environment
14 September 2018Recognizing the efforts made by companies and how much work there is still to be done is important, starting from the numbers and not from interpretations.
How much impact do commuting accidents have on the general trend?
How many occupational diseases are recognized compared to those reported?
In addition to what was published previously, we believe it is interesting to share, in extract, the annual report of INAIL President Massimo De Felice dated 27 June 2018.
The trend of accidents at work and occupational diseases over time, the relationship between reported and recognized are fundamental elements of analysis.
Accidents
Just over 641 thousand reports of accidents occurring in 2017 were recorded, at the same level as 2016 (-0,08%); they are approximately 14% less than in 2012.
- recognized injuries at work there are just under 417 thousand, of which approximately 19% are "outside the company" (i.e. "by means of transport" or "in itinere").
The "off-farm" data is relevant for the accurate evaluation of the polestics and prevention actions.
Of the 1.112 reports of fatal accidents (1.142 in 2016, 1.370 in 2012), 617 accidents were confirmed "at work" (of which 360, 58% "outside the company").
Illnesses
Le complaints there were around 58 thousand cases of illness (around two thousand and 200 less than in 2016), with an increase of around 25% compared to 2012. recognized the professional case at 33%, 3% are still "under investigation". 65% of complaints are for diseases of the osteomuscular system.
