NO HELPING

December 2 2019We are on the threshold of 2020 - MMXX and today we still hear about falls from heights.
Even once we fell.
Technical solutions, training and culture were missing.
And today?
We read in the news that, once again, an aerial platform, perhaps due to an anomaly or perhaps a wrong manoeuvre, caused a person to fall.
"A bad accident at work: a 44-year-old fell from the basket of a crane while carrying out restoration work on a building.
It seems that the cause is linked to the overturning of the basket itself.
The worker who fell onto the asphalt was rescued by the 118 medics who rushed to the scene of the accident.
There is currently maximum confidentiality regarding the man's condition: he is currently hospitalized with a reserved prognosis.
The Carabinieri from the local station as well as the Fire Brigade arrived on site to carry out the ritual investigations.
The crane was seized.“
It's clear that something really went wrong.
You can imagine that it wasn't fastened, that something didn't work properly, that it hit somewhere.
We need to ask ourselves sincerely and deeply:
what more can be done to avoid these tragedies?
What initiatives can be undertaken to ensure that all of this, which is in the most consolidated management today, does not happen again?
Should we give up and make it acceptable out of resignation?
We must ALL give ourselves a sincere answer to these questions and, united, we must find a solution.
At home there are people who, innocent victims, suffer our mistakes and pay the terrible consequences.
