May 4, 2022The protection of workers is duly the subject of continuous and constant updates.
Like every year, May 1st is celebrated in many countries around the world, to remember all the struggles for workers' rights and on this day it is important to underline the importance given to the topic of prevention.
For this reason, we report an extract from an article from Puntosicuro, to allow everyone to exercise the right/duty to be updated and learn more.
As reported in a statement published in the Official Journal of 21 February 2022, dated 20 December 2021 was adopted decree of the Minister of Labor and Social Policies and of the Minister of Health, in agreement with the Minister of Economic Development, which incorporates the directive no. 2019/1832/EU of the Commission of 24 October 2019, amending Annexes I, II and III of Council Directive 89/656/EEC as regards "adjustments of a strictly technical nature".
And the decree provides for the replacement of Annex VIII of the Legislative Decree 81/2008, updating its content in accordance with the provisions introduced by Directive no. 2019/1832/EU.
Here are some changes compared to the previous version of the attachment:
- point 1 “Indicative scheme for the inventory of risks in relation to the parts of the body to be protected with personal protective equipment”: the subdivision of the risks connected to biological agents has changed and a new category has been introduced: “other risks” (drowning, lack of visibility, lack of oxygen);
- point 2 “Indicative and non-exhaustive list of types of personal protective equipment in relation to the risks from which they protect”: the list of types of personal protective equipment is updated personal protective equipment to include currently available PPE and standardize PPE terminology.
- point 3 “Indicative and non-exhaustive list of activities and sectors of activity for which it may be necessary to make personal protective equipment available”: now refer to the risk assessment: “based on the risk assessment it will be established whether the use of personal protective equipment and, if necessary, what characteristics such equipment must have, in accordance with the provisions of this Directive". A particular organization of the tables has also been created.
